Earlier today, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement restricting entry to China to foreign nationals, including those foreigners with residence permits, as well as foreigners in tourist groups from Hong Kong, Macao SAR and Guangxi.
The measures are being implemented in order to reduce the spread of COVID - 19 and will take effect from 00:00 on March 28, 2020 and will continue until further notice.
The restriction does not affect foreigners with a diplomatic visa. Only foreigners who require entry to China for absolutely necessary economic, commercial, scientific or technological activities, or for humanitarian emergency activities, may apply for a visa at a Chinese consulate.
